Waterspout Alert & Offshore Shower Safety A strong shower warning is active in Atlantic waters 20+ nm offshore with potential for waterspouts, 30-knot winds, and lightning. If boating offshore, monitor constantly and seek safe harbor if conditions deteriorate or a waterspout is spotted. Even brief squalls create dangerous wind shear and reduced visibility. Inshore boaters should stay alert for sudden gusts. Verify with your captain or check the Coast Guard forecast before leaving the inlet.
